Reviving a historic industrial site through creative regeneration, improved public space and contemporary design.
Scrace Architects were appointed to lead Phase 1 of the transformation of Wilton Village, helping reimagine the historic site as a vibrant destination rooted in creativity, heritage and community. The project focused on securing planning permission and delivering the first phase of works to revitalise tired and underused spaces, improve the visitor experience and restore a stronger sense of identity across the village.
Through upgraded facades, improved public spaces, landscaping and clearer wayfinding, the transformation aimed to reconnect the site with its rich industrial history while creating a more welcoming and commercially sustainable environment for independent businesses, makers and visitors. The approach balanced preservation with contemporary design, bringing new energy to one of the country’s oldest industrial locations.
