SCRACE Architects have recently secured planning approval for this modest yet functional extension. Our clients were looking to expand their small house with a unique, modern and light and airy extension to better accommodate their family. The extension creates a spacious family room linking to the kitchen on ground floor and a master bedroom with ensuite on the first floor. Glass doors and a skylight ensure that natural light floods in to create a light and airy open plan living space.
Whilst recognising the ambitions of our client this design looks to respond to its setting, paying respect to its heritage through the use of similar materials and details. We are pleased that this modern twist on the 1960’s design may now provide them with the affordable yet extraordinary home they needed to remain part of the local community.
